Project "MISSION REVIEW" /016-BG-2024- 71400/ within the framework of the PROTEUS Project, funded by the TF and co-financed by the EU and implemented by the Student Society for the Development of Interethnic Dialogue Foundation, Bulgaria
1 March 2024 - 28 February 2025
The Project Mission "Overview" will provide Roma with the opportunity to participate in all processes that concern their own development and determine their presence in society, in the spheres of public awareness and media, education, as well as in political circles, through advocacy campaigns at local and national level.
The project focuses on three overview areas, namely media, education and politics. In the media, we will position the need for the alternative media, namely the Web portal "Sharen Kon", through which we will ensure objective information about and from Roma in the country.
In the Education strand we will focus on the problem of access to information and communication channels for the exchange of such information. We will carry out a series of information campaigns and consultations on all opportunities for further education in higher education in the country and abroad, as well as for applying for scholarship programs for students. The focus will be on Roma who have realized the need for education and are looking for ways to build on it and realize themselves in their desired profession.
The Education strand will include a campaign addressed to young people of Roma origin who want to continue their education in HE through consultations - online, feedback, on-site at the office and two local meetings in different regions.
In the Policy strand, four meetings will be held in small localities where there is Roma political representation in local government to discuss approaches, attitudes, explore mechanisms on the basis of which to develop analysis aimed at informed public debate and evidence-based public policy formulation.
